An admin, or administrative assistant helps to keep busy offices and organisations working efficiently and effectively.

Very few organisations do not need administrative assistants, so employees could work in areas such as a relatively small business or for a major global financial operation.

Admin assistants have to be well organised and good at communicating, and will usually have well-developed keyboard skills, a knowledge of filing and a pleasant telephone manner.

They may be required to do reception work, manage staff appointments and keep records up to date.

Good GCSEs in English and maths will be helpful, though much training is done on the job.
